Zane's Redemption { Review }

Up first, is my favourite Paranormal/Erotic writer, Tina Folsom.

I stumbled upon her Scangaurds series last summer by fluke. I love Vampire books and I was searching through Kobo and saw that it was a free option so I downloaded it.

Well let me tell you... I went red in the face after reading the first paragraph! WOAH! I was not expecting that.

This was my first 'erotic' read, and after Samson's Lovely Mortal, I was hooked!

Zane's Redemption is book #5 in the series. I've been waiting a long time for this book, and it did not disappoint.

I waited months for this to come out on Kobo. So when I got the green light I bought it- no hesitations.

Tina has done it again. She roped me in with the very first paragraph. I could imagine the scenes in my head and they were descriptive, graphic and oh so vivid. I was hooked.

Zane is described as a brutally cold Vampire who has a short temper. He has his reasons for being crude, rude and hardcore which you get to find out about later in the story. Tina tells Zane's storey with so much emotion. It makes you fall in love with him and hurt for him. He no longer seems like the asshole he is made out to be in the prior books. Speaking of the prior books - I feel you get a good sense of who he is not only as a man but as a Vampire as well. Since you get tid bits about his life and personality from her other books you feel more close to him.

Zane is pulled from his regular assignments at Scangaurds after he brutally murders a man. His new assignment - Babysitting the 20 year old Hybrid, Portia. Something he has no interest in...Until he meets her.

Zane is to keep Portia away from boys - at her Father's order. But Zane cannot keep his eyes off of her or his hands. She sparks a feeling in him he has not felt in decades. Is it lust? Or possibly love?

Portia wants to lose her virginity so she is not a Virgin forever. She has until her 21st birthday, which is 6 weeks away. She does everything in her power to sneak out to meet other boys, but she is unable to outsmart Zane. Portia is lusting over Zane. She finds him so attractive and sexy. But after multiple attempts to lose her virginity, she turns the tables she asks Zane to be her first. She flirts, flaunts and teases, until he can take no more.

Zane bends the rules, breaks them and in the end... falls for the one person he shouldn't have.

Synopsis:

The last thing vampire bodyguard Zane wants to do is to guard a hybrid, a half-vampire, half-human, whose father wants to keep her a virgin. Known for his violent temper and callous lack of compassion, Zane's out-of-control rage, born of the cruelty he suffered during the Holocaust, drives him to focus only on revenge. Trying to find the last of his torturers is his only goal in life.

Portia is a young hybrid with a serious dilemma: in a few weeks, her body will be set in its final vampire form. If she is to avoid having to live out her immortal life as a virgin, she must find a lover in that short time--something her father hires Zane to prevent.

The moment Portia and Zane meet, rules begin to bend, and a forbidden attraction bursts into flames hotter than the hell of Zane's past. But that past threatens to pull them apart unless they can overcome their prejudice, forsake hate for love, and revenge for forgiveness
.

Tina does an amazing job at creating a romance between Portia and Zane while keeping his bad boy demeanour intact. The way she integrated Zane's life story, makes you feel for him in a way I would have never imagined. Tortured in a Jewish internment camp back in the 1940's by Nazis. Zane seeks revenge to the people who did him wrong and turned him. Parts of the book I was in tears, others I was laughing and at one point I was yelling I was angry.

I have to point out while the sex scenes in this book were hot, heavy and steamy. Ok downright sexy, they were more tame than some of Tina's other books. Don't get me wrong, they brought a smile to my face, but I would have expected....more.

I read this book in 24 hours. I just could not put it down. So impressed with this book and it makes me want to read more.

Thank you Tina again for a book that I will re read just because it was that good!
